With Google Place, formerly called Google Local, you have the ability to produce high quality free listings for your Temecula business, or any other city, whether you currently have a website or not.

Although relatively easy to make a list, it may be more difficult to get your listings appear on the first page for the keyword phrases you are targeting.

7 SEO Tips To Help You Dominate The Search Engines:

1. Research Your Keywords.

Before you make (or claim) your listing, it is important that you do thorough research. You need to know what keyword phrases you want to rank for and what your competition looks like for the term you want to target.

I recommend that you optimize your listing for any keyword phrases that do not currently have a Google list of places associated with it. If you search Google for the phrase and do not see Google's list of places, (identified by the red upside down tear and map) it is best to choose another phrase.

When you come up with keyword phrases you are planning to target (I suggest 5) it is wise to study your competitors' list to see if they complete list. Do they fill in every field? What keywords they are targeting? Do they use a maximum quota of pictures and videos?

Answers to these questions will give you ideas for what you can expect to surpass the one of the current list can be found on the first page.

2. Fill In Each Google Places Field Entirely.

There are about 20 fields to fill in when you complete your Places Listing. It is important to fill out each field as the omission of even one can negatively affect your ranking.

3. Utilizing Every Available Google Places Category.

Google will suggest a specific category for your business and ask you to use it. However, you can also add more categories or custom categories and important to do this.

Using your keyword research, use the keyword that are left in a category until you have used any additional categories are available for you.

4. You Are Allowed Ten Pictures in Your PPPgogle Places Page - Use 'Em.

It may seem basic, but it's true. Every business owner is given the same opportunity when setting their Google listings area but many do not take advantage of it.

Google allows you to use up to ten photos and I encourage you to use each of them. You can also improve your optimization efforts by changing the name of your pictures to include your keyword phrases before uploading them.

5. You Are Given Five Videos - Use Them as Well.

Since creating videos is a little more of a pain in the butt than uploading photos, your competitors oftentimes will not go through the trouble of adding video to their their Google Places pages.

However, creating a short video slideshow type (which is just a collection of photos put in motion) is relatively easy. If you search Google for the phrase, "slideshow maker," you'll find a number of tools that can help you make the kind of online video.

You have to upload every video on YouTube.com before you can add it to your list.

6. Add Quotes To YOur Google Places Page.

Quotes occurs when an online reference is found for your business and/or services. In the eyes of Google, it is verifying that your business really exists and offers the types of services you list in your area page.

It is essential that your quote matches the information available in your area page. You can create your own quote by sending your information to various online directories including Yellow Pages, Super Pages, Citysearch, Insider Pages, Yahoo Local, localization and number of others.

7. Add Reviews & Ratings To Your Google Places Page.

Google automatically displays these reviews found on sites like yelp.com, insiderpages.com and demandforce.com. Having a lot of positive reviews is not only useful for Google SEO area, but it can help you get the business may have gone to another competitor.

Ask your existing clients to post reviews of your business to the site of your choice and if necessary, offer some form of bonus for completing tasks.
Spend the time to follow each of these seven tips, and you're on your way to getting your Google Places pages listed on the first page for various terms.
Just like traditional SEO, however, do not make the mistake of ignoring your list after completion. Although you have finished most of the work, it is wise to continue to develop new quotes, get more tests and assessments and respond openly to the reviews you will receive.
